Chamber names winners, donors named from fourth of July Parade

A partial list of winning entries (and helpful volunteers) from the July 4th Freedom Celebration Parade were announced recently by Pawhuska Chamber of Commerce officials.

First place in the Funniest Patriotic category was awarded to the Helmer Family, while the Most Outrageous award went to the Chambers Family. The Most Patriotic entry, according to the judges, was from the Thornes Family. Also, Kaiden earned the Best Wheels honor.

The Thomas/Priest Family were acknowledged for donating the hot dogs with buns and sides at the Ben Johnson Cultural Park, while the Helmer Family was recognized for providing the water.

Donors of the cobbler included Sherry Williams, Dana Horne, Joe Johnson, Joan Wilson, Linda Boone, Cindy Testerman, Susie Holcombe, Shirley Roberts and Debbie Reed. It was further noted that none of the cobbler was wasted, as the leftovers were re-donated to the Catholic Church Soup Kitchen.

Appreciation also was expressed to Chamber volunteers who helped to make the Freedom Celebration successful. Those included: Citizens Bank, City of Pawhuska, Judge John Kane and family, Matt Kane, Mallorie McCartney, Hayden Javellas, Sarah Tolson, Josh Phillippi, Helmer Family, Thomas Family, Dr. Bob Priest and family, Jack Buzbee, Sherry Williams, Dana Thorne, Joe Johnson, Joan Wilson, Linda Boone, Cindy Testerman, Susie Holcombe, Shirley Roberts, Debbie Reed.

The Chamber sent a big “Thank You” to all parade participants.
