TRUSTEES MEET

The Wynona Board of Trustees held a meeting on Tuesday, June 21.

In addition to regular business, bids were opened on a Craftsman zero-turn mower. There were three bids were received. A top bid of $500 was made by Jason Stansberry.

Board members continued discussing repairs to the water tower. They also considered complaints that have been turned in on several derelict local properties. The board asks that anyone with rundown property in Wynona to please clean it up. Neighbors are having problems with snakes and rats coming from some of those places.

Attending the meeting were Johnnie Lott, Della Carter, Harli Towell, Donna Swanner, Nancy Deatherage, Tosha and Timmy Stroud and Tennie Slone. The next scheduled meeting is set for Tuesday, July 19, at 7:30 p.m.

FOUNDERS DAY INFO

We had a wonderful turnout for our first Founder’s Day 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament. There were 14 teams with a total of 48 players entered.

The winning team was Britton Redeagle, Jamison Cass, Tyler Wilson and Derek Wilson playing as the “Wardens.” They won T-shirts designed and donated by Crala Marlin.

Trevor Kanke, a 2016 Wynona High School graduate, organized the tournament and will be presenting a check to the Wynona School Board for the school’s portion of the proceeds.

Special thanks goes to the following Pawhuska businesses: Sonic Drive-In, Dollar General and Hometown Foods for their generous donations to the concession stand.

LITTLE MR./MISS

Winners in the Little Miss and Little Mr. Wynona contests included:

Little Miss under 2 years - Zellee Edwards; runnersup, Hadley Ballinger and Lillith Deatherage.

Little Miss 2 to 4 year olds - Briella Kimrey.

Little Mister 2 to 4 year olds - Anthony McNelly; runnerup, Joseph Deatherage.

Little Mister 4 to 6 year olds - Dempsey Richmond.

There were no entries in the Little Miss 4-6 and the Little Mister under-2 divisions.

TURTLE RACES

This year’s turtle races drew 61 entries. Winners included:

5 and under — 1st place, John Thomas; 2nd place, Scarlett Pearce; 3rd place, Lynleigh Robinson.

6 -10 year olds — 1st place, Christian McCullough; 2nd place, Trevor Bright; 3rd place, Trenton Brown.

11 years and up — 1st place, Levi King; 2nd place, Sammy Myers; 3rd place, Samuel Shaw.

WATER BALLOONS

1st Place — Gary Short and Becky Lott.

2nd Place — Bobbie and Brianna Mosley.

3rd Place — Katherine Hollowell and Joseph Lott.

EGG TOSS

1st Place — Desi Rikard & Harley Towell.

2nd Place — Shelby Bute & Brayla Tilley.

3rd Place — Sarah Bacon & Michael Lott.

EGG & SPOON RACE

1st Place — Kendra Moore.

2nd Place — Laney Horton.

3rd Place — Rocky Thomas.

3-LEGGED RACE

Winners were Grant Harmon and Brayden Barbee.

SACK RACES

There was a tie for first between Grant Harmon and Brayden Barbee.

RAFFLE

Robbie Robinson won the 50/50 Raffle.
