Registrations sought for 4th of July Parade

The last day to pre-register for this year’s Fourth of July Freedom Celebration Parade is Thursday, July 1.

Pre-registration forms can be obtained at the Chamber of Commerce office, 210 W. Main. Telephone 918-287-1208.

Monday, July 4, parade participants can register on the parking lot of Citizen’s National Bank at 8th and Kihekah Ave.

The Pawhuska parade starts from 9th Street and Kihekah at 9:30 a.m. Monday. The route will proceed a dozen blocks eastward to the Ben “Son” Johnson Cultural Park, where there will be free hot dogs, apple cobbler and water for everyone.

Prizes are to be awarded in seven parade categories: Funniest, Best Pet, Best Wheels, Best Family, Most Patriotic, Most Original and Most Outrageous.

Parade entrants can decorate themselves and their pets, as well as their bicycles, tricycles, strollers, wagons or any other non-motorized vehicle/mode of transportation.
