AROUND THE COUNTY
TRIP FUNDING SOUGHT
The Pawhuska High School senior cheerleaders are raising money for a trip to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.
In support of that goal, they’re hosting a potato bake Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, 301 E. 6th St. A baked potato with all the fixings, plus dessert and a drink, costs $10, and the fundraiser also will include an auction of homemade baked goods.
PHS senior cheerleaders are Madelyn Priest, Riley Sell, Heather Conner, Laurel Culver and Samantha Lookout. For more information about the project, contact Jodi Culver 918-287-7421 or Annie Conner at 918-381-5529.

HYDRANTS TESTED
Testing of local fire hydrants is being carried out by Pawhuska Fire Department personnel.
City officials are reminding residents that the flushing procedures can sometimes cause discoloration of water in neighborhoods near the hydrants being tested. Until the testing can be completed, they ask that water users exhibit caution before doing laundry in these affected areas.
LOCAL AGENT CONFERS
Osage County 4-H Educator Jessica Jantzen recently attended a statewide conference of Oklahoma’s Association of Extension 4-H Agents.
The meeting, which took place in Lawton, promoted professional development aimed at strengthening, enhancing and advocating for the 4-H youth development profession.
“I truly gain so much from attending this meeting,” said Jantzen. “I enjoyed networking, sharing new ideas with my peers and being able to take ideas home which will strengthen my county program.”
