Pasture management focus of Ponca City seminar

A free public seminar on pasture management will be offered April 20 in Ponca City.

Presented by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Wednesday seminar is scheduled to last from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Pioneer Technology Center, 2101 N. Ash.

Sessions on invasive plant control, grazing land management, prescribed burning, herd health and new antibiotic rules will be featured.

Lunch is to be provided at the no-cost event. Persons who plan to attend are asked to call the Newkirk USDA Service Center (at 580-362-3362, extension 3) by April 13.

Sponsors include the USDA, Kay County Conservation District, Oklahoma Tribal Conservaiton Advisory Council, OSU Cooperative Extension, Pioneer Tech and Wheatland RC&D.
