Barbara Ann (Roberts)(Howell) Taylor, 81, passed away Friday, April 1, at her home in Wynona.
Born July 7, 1934, in Boulanger, Barbara was the daughter of Cecil Gordon and Tennie Agnes (Turnbull) Roberts. She married Kennith Howell on Oct. 7, 1950, and they were married for 32 years. In September 1982, she married Gene Taylor in Wynona; he preceded her in death in December 2014.
Barbara served as president of Howell’s Well Service for many years and was still operating the business at the time of her death. She attended Victory Baptist Church in Pershing and was active in activities at the Wynona Schools. Always willing to help people, Barbara loved doing things with her family and friends, and she loved her onions.
Survivors include: her children — Tennie Ann Slone, Kennith Howell Jr., Dixie Howell Hurd, Edward Larry Howell and adopted daughter, Shaylea Nicole Howell; step-children Jim Taylor, Clay Taylor, Cliff Taylor and Robin Chouteau, and two sisters, Margie Perrigo and Mary Howell. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 30 great grandkids and one great-great grandson, as well as a host of other family and friends.
Barbara was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; one son, Robert Joe Howell; a brother, Cecil Gordon Roberts Jr.; a sister, Evelyn Carter; three grandkids, Rebecca Ann Howell, John Timothy Howell and Timmy Joe Howell, and a great grandson, Sawyer James Neel.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, April 5, at the Lighthouse Family Worship Center in Barnsdall, with the Rev. Bill Lay officiating. Interment was in AJ Powell Memorial Cemetery at Hominy.
McCartney’s Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
