Patricia A. “Patsy” Kent

Patricia A. “Patsy” Kent died Sunday, Feb. 7, in the Pawhuska Nursing Home. She was 64 years old.

A rosary was recited Tuesday at the Pawhuska Indian Camp Chapel, where she had been lying in state. Bill Lynn officiated traditional services at the Chapel early Wednesday. A 10 a.m. Mass followed at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with Father Sean Donovan officiating. Interment was at Pawhuska City Cemetery, with McCartney’s Johnson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Born June 12, 1951, in Cushing, Patsy was the daughter of Lawrence Pierce Murray and Christine Hamilton NoEar. She married Marland Kent in Newkirk on Nov. 5, 1971, and preceded her in death Oct. 2, 1983. Patsy was a homemaker and a member of the American Legion Post 198 Auxiliary, the Osage Tribe of Indians, the Klash-Kah-She Club and the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Patsy is survived by: her mother, Christine Hamilton NoEar; sisters Bonnie Pratt and Jackie Rios; a brother, Frank Murray; sons — Thomas Goombi (and his wife, Tonya), Vincent Kent and Maurice Kent; and a daughter, Virginia Hollis (and her husband, John). Other survivors include 14 grandchildren and three great grandchildren, as well as other family and many friends. In addition to her husband, Patsy was preceded in death by her father, Lawrence Pierce Murray, and her twin sister, Pamela Murray.
