Well-known area cowboy Chris Potter earned top bronc rider honors at the 20th-annual Working Ranch Cowboys Association World Championships held Nov. 12-15 in Amarillo, Texas.
Potter, from nearby Maple City, Kan., who also competes locally, was part of a Lonesome Pines entry that won the WRCA Ranch Rodeo world championship.
The Kansas ranch team wrapped up the title on the final day by setting a new world record time of 18.7 seconds in the competition’s wild cow milking event.
