Barnsdall man dies in crash
BARTLESVILLE — A 79-year-old Barnsdall man was killed Monday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash at the south edge of Bartlesville.
Richard Earl Javine died at the scene of the accident, which occurred around 2:40 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 75 and Rice Creek Road.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol said Javine sustained fatal head injuries when the 2015 Jeep he was driving westward collided with a 2010 Jeep driven northbound by Rita Calvert, 63, of Ochelata.
According to the OHP report, Javine’s vehicle apparently failed to yield at a stop sign on Rice Creek Road before being struck by the second vehicle, which was travelling on Highway 75.
Javine expired prior to being extricated from the wreckage at around 4 p.m., the report added.
The driver of the second vehicle and a 3-year-old passenger were both transported to a hospital and are listed in stable condition, the accident report said. A five-year-old passenger in the Calvert vehicle suffered no apparent injuries, said the OHP.
