Hall of Great Westerners

The late John Hughes (1933-2013), a legendary Oklahoma cattleman from Bartlesville, was inducted into the Hall of Great Westerners at the 2015 Western Heritage Awards at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City. Robert Samuel Hughes II, along with his sisters (left to right) Sally Hughes Trentman, Jane Hughes Kirkpatrick and Mary Hughes Hudson, accepted the honor after a heart-felt introduction by long-time friend Burns Hargis. Holding the Western Heritage Award’s Wrangler is Miss Rodeo Oklahoma 2015 Sierra Pecha. Robert Hughes said, “Dad was a great father; a great man; and he lived a great life.”
