Most Pawhuska-area residents were left without telephone and internet service for several hours last Wednesday, Feb. 25, after an AT&T fiber-optic cable was accidentally severed by construction crews working on U.S. Highway 60, local officials said.
The accident occurred early in the afternoon and repairs to the cable were completed at around 6 p.m., they added.
Area emergency-call networks were briefly disrupted before backup systems became operational, the officials said.
