School elections held Tuesday
Voting was conducted Tuesday in the annual Pawhuska School District elections, which featured a three-person race for Board of Education seat No. 5.
Candidates for the school board included incumbent Tom Boone, Jr., and a pair of challengers — Patricia Wilson and Mathew Gray. Boone, who currently serves as board clerk, was elected to a five-year term in 2010.
Gray is a 1996 Pawhuska High School graduate who has six children enrolled in in the local schools. A 19-year resident of the district, Wilson graduated from high school in Wynona and is a student at Tri County Technology Center.
Vote counts were not expected to be available until after the press deadline for this week’s edition. However, updated election results have been posted at the Pawhuska Journal-Capital website, as well as on its Facebook page.
