Candidates sought for Free Fair board

Candidates are being sought for the Osage County Free Fair Board, county commissioners announced Monday.

The free fair board currently has one open seat in District 3 and two vacancies from District 2, according to the commissioners, who noted that board members Lou Ann Brown and Macy Strom were unopposed for re­election to new terms.

Should no other fair board candidates come forward, the commissioners will consider appointing persons to fill the positions.

Last week, Osage County Commission members chose one of several applicants they had interviewed for the new position of commissioners’ assistant. Kandy Jump is expected to begin working soon at the Pawhuska courthouse. She will be an assistant for all three members of the county panel.
