Blacksmith’s shop

Work is progressing on a Blacksmith’s Shop being constructed behind the Pawhuska Chamber of Commerce, which is housed in a historic native-stone structure known as the Blacksmith’s House. Chamber officials have been discussing the project for several years. When completed (probably sometime next month), the building will provide some much-needed storage space for the Chamber. It will also be used for blacksmithing demonstrations — related to the Chamber office’s original use as a residence of the blacksmith for the Osages after the tribe re-located here from their Diminished Reserve in Kansas.
