OSU Extension in Osage County will be holding a conference at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 20 for agriculture producers and other interested persons in the Osage County Fairgrounds “Agriculture Building” at Pawhuska.

The conference has two presenters highlighting the program. First will be Dr. Randy Taylor, an Extension Professor in the Ag Engineering Department at OSU. He will speak on “Precision Ag Technology & Pasture Management.” Like all technology, in time it becomes much less costly to purchase and operate. So is the case with GPS guidance technology for Agriculture. With the costs of fertilizer and herbicides what they are, GPS guidance for pasture applications is becoming more popular and cost effective.

The other presenter for the evening is JC Hobbs from the OSU Ag Economics Department. JC will be discussing “TAX Strategy for Ranches & Farms. Due to historically high cattle prices and many beef cattle producers receiving multiple years disaster payments from USDA, Tax Strategy is even more important this fall with many farms/ranches and families. JC will update those who attend the meeting on current tax laws that apply to agriculture producers & offer some helpful guidance on minimizing tax obligations for the ranch or farm and its owners.

Join them at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 20 for an evening of very useful education from OSU Extension.
