PFD FLUSHING HYDRANTS

Pawhuska Fire Department was scheduled to begin flushing local fire hydrants Wednesday. The annual testing and maintenance procedures will continue for about two or three weeks, Fire Chief Gip Allen said. Residents could notice water discoloration and experience low water pressure while the flushing is is being conducted, the fire chief added.

TURKEY SHOOTS

SLATED IN AVANT

Avant Volunteer Fire Department will be holding Turkey Shoots on Nov. 14-15 and 22-23. The shoots are conducted a mile west of the Avant Fire Station from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. This Saturday, a breakfast will be held from 7-11 a.m.

PARADE APPLICATIONS AVAILABLE

Applications for the city’s annual Christmas Parade of Lights are now available at the Pawhuska Chamber of Commerce. “A Pawhuska Christmas” will be the theme of this year’s parade, which is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6.

BENEFIT MEATPIE

DINNER

A meatpie dinner to benefit the Morrell Chapter church house fund will be held from 5 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 21, at the Wah-Zha-Zhi Cultural Center, 1449 W. Main. Meatpies are to be sold for $5 apiece and the meatpie served with green beans, salad, pie and a drink will cost $8. The event is being sponsored by the family of Leonard Morrell Maker, with all proceeds going to the Morrell Chapter church house fund. BAKE SALE SET

Pawhuska Church of the Nazarene will have a Bake Sale on Saturday, Nov. 22, beginning at 8 a.m. at Hometown Foods, 236 E. Main.

PAWHUSKA BIBLE CHURCH TO PROVIDE FREE THANKSGIVING TURKEYS

Free Thanksgiving turkeys will be provided for Pawhuska families with income less than $1,500 monthly. Must have proof of income and residency.
