County approves fees for use of fairgrounds
Rental fees for use of the Osage County Fairgrounds were approved Monday by the Osage County Commission.
Commissioners voted, 3-0, in favor of the revised fee schedule, which was designed to provide fair prices for public use of the facilities.
“This guarantees that everybody will be treated the same,” District One Commissioner Bob Jackson said. “They’ll know what the cost is going in.”
Later in the meeting, commission members designated their choice for a new emergency management/safety director. The decision was made after candidates were interviewed during an executive session.
Five persons applied for the position, which is currently held by Howard “Mike” Pattison — who is retiring. Pattison served as the county’s emergency management director for more than five years.
Bids were received from five companies on a Tourism Social Media Program planned for the county. Further action was tabled until county officials are able to review the proposals with Osage County Tourism Oversight Committee Chairman Steve Guy.
The commissioners also voted approval of a resolution related to the insurance coverage for full-time county employees.
