‘Run For The Health Of It’ set for Saturday
The Osage Nation will hold its sixth-annual “Run For The Health Of It” this Saturday at Ben Johnson Cultural Park.
Starting time is 8 a.m. for the chip-monitored, 5-kilometer run, which costs $20. A free Fun Run is being offered with an optional $10 t-shirt.
Event sponsors include the Osage Nation Health and Wellness Division, Communities of Excellence, Clinical & Medical Services, the ON Counseling Center Prevention Program, Primary Residential Treatment and Treatment Alternative to Street Crime.
Online registration can be found at www.signmeup.com/99885, according to race officials. In-person sign-ups will be taken through noon Friday at the Communities of Excellence office, 604 Kihekah Ave. Race packets can be picked up there until 4 p.m. on the day before the race.
Tribal employees who are competing as part of Osage Nation Employee Fitness Challenge should notify their team leaders about race fee payments, officials added. For more information, persons may call 918-287-5267 or visit the downtown office.
Saturday registrations begin at 7 a.m. and there will be an extra $5 fee for late entries.
The race course is USATF-certified, officials said. Cultural Park is located on Lynn Avenue off Sixth Street.
