WYNONA SCHOOL NEWS
Submitted by Superintendent Dixie Hurd
Spring Break is over and now we buckle down and finish off the year! One quarter left to go! Report cards went home this week. If you did not get one, please contact the office for a copy! The state testing will start in April. Students should be getting lots of rest and reading in the evenings to prepare for the tests. Remember that Monday, March 31st, is a snow day-no school. This would be a great opportunity to take children to the state capitol to see how people can influence the ways laws are considered and passed. The newest revision of the school calendar is on our website and available in the office. April 18 will be a snow day - no school. May 9th will be a snow day - no school. May 2nd will be a school day. It had been originally scheduled to be a snow day but we will be in school that day!
Our junior high girls’ slow pitch team has a game at Prue today at 4:30. They play Prue here on April 1st at 4:30 and Copan here on April 3rd, at 4:30. The juniors and seniors will be taking the ACT at our school on Tuesday, April 1st. The junior high has a track meet at Hominy on April 1st. The Little Basketball games are scheduled for April 22nd at Prue and April 29th at Wynona. Pre-K through 4th grade students need to start practicing! These last few weeks of school always seem to fly by because there are so many things to do. Let’s make the end of school the most productive!
VETERAN REPRESENTATIVE AT WYNONA TOWN HALL
Just a reminder that Lee Webb, is still coming to the Town Hall on Fridays from 11:30 until 12:30 to help Veterans with their benefits. This is a great opportunity for veterans and should be utilized by all that are qualified. Veterans are reminded that they can use their tax exempt card from the state to exempt taxes on their phone bills. Just contact your telephone provider for more details. The OK Department of Veterans Affairs representative will not be coming to Osage County anymore, but Lee Webb will be still doing the Veterans Assistance for this area. Every Friday Lee will be at the Pawhuska Community Center-9 a.m-11a.m., Wynona 11:30a.m.-12:30 p.m. and Hominy from 1 p.m.-2 p.m. and any other towns that need assistance can come to one of these towns to meet with Lee. Remember that the VA Healthcare meets all the requirements for Obamacare, so anyone who does not have their VA Healthcare should come and talk to Lee. Lee wanted to remind everyone that he will also be at Cleveland at the City Hall from 2:30 until 3:30 p.m. on Fridays, as well.

Wynonans offer their condolences to the family members and friends of Lori Gurley, who passed away last week. She was a good friend to all who knew her and we will miss her!
