I would like to invite everyone to join us at the capitol on Monday, March 31, to just voice our ideas to our legislators.

We can make a difference if we let them know what we want. They are there to represent us and if we don’t tell them our ideas, they won’t know how to vote for us. I encourage you to email, call, or visit and talk to our representatives. They always say they welcome our input!

Our basketball season is over and now we will be scheduling our little ballgames soon. We will keep you posted as soon as we get those scheduled. Those games are always entertaining and so much fun to see the enthusiasm of our little emerging stars. Thank you for attending our parent conferences. The support of our parents is always such a welcome thing! When everyone is involved, our children learn so much more. Correcting little things early on, helps to make the grades better in the end. We appreciate you!

The 5th and 8th grades will be taking the writing tests in the next couple of weeks. Due to the snow days, we have a small extension. Remember, rest and a good breakfast are the best way to start the day for testing. Spring Break is around the corner. There will be no school from March 14 - 21. Kindergarten roundup will be on Monday, March 24, following spring break. All 5 year olds who will be in kindergarten will need to be there with their parents.

The roundup helps assess a child’s readiness to learn. The state testing season is near and students need to prepare by reading at home as much as possible. We don’t want our students to stress about the testing but we must take it seriously.

Just a reminder that Lee Webb, is still coming to the Town Hall on Fridays from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. to help veterans with their benefits. This is a great opportunity for veterans and should be utilized by all that are qualified. Veterans are reminded that they can use their tax exempt card from the state to exempt taxes on their phone bills. Just contact your telephone provider for more details. The OK Department of Veterans Affairs representative will not be coming to Osage County anymore, but Lee Webb will be still doing the Veterans Assistance for this area.

Every Friday Lee will be at the Pawhuska Community Center 9 a.m - 11 a.m., Wynona 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., and Hominy from 1 p.m. -2 p.m., and any other towns that need assistance can come to one of these towns to meet with Lee. Remember that the VA Healthcare meets all the requirements for Obamacare, so anyone who does not have their VA Healthcare should come and talk to Lee. Lee wanted to remind everyone that he will also be at Cleveland at the City Hall from 2:30 - 3:30 p.m. on Fridays, as well.

There have been lots of clothes donated to the Wynona Town Hall and everyone who needs clothing of any sort is encouraged to come and go through all the donations and take what they need. This service has been offered for quite some time and lots of people have taken advantage of it. We also have lots and lots of good books for all to read and enjoy. There is no limit on how many books one takes and no limit on when or if they bring it back. Come browse!
