The first semester is behind us and we are ready to start anew for the second semester. Report cards went home on Wednesday. If you need a copy, please call the office and one will be provided. The snow day on Jan. 6 will be made up on Friday, Jan. 17. School will be in session on that day. Our basketball teams have several ballgames in the next few weeks and then this season will be complete. We appreciate the fans who have supported our teams! Jan. 20 is a scheduled professional day. There will be no school on that day.

Seniors and parents of seniors, it is time to make plans to fill out the FAFSA form. Everyone should fill out this form as early as possible to get the most financial aid that is available to seniors. The first step is to get an electronic pin so that the form can be signed online and sent in immediately. Both the parent and the student will need a pin. You create a logon and then request a pin. You will have to have social security numbers. If anyone needs assistance, please call the office at 918-846-2467.

We are on the downhill slide for our seniors. The whirlwind begins and the year will be complete in the blink of an eye. Strive to do the best possible in the short time that is available.

Just a reminder that Lee Webb is still coming to the Town Hall on Fridays from 11:30 until 12:30 to help veterans with their benefits. Veterans are reminded that they can use their tax exempt card from the state to exempt taxes on their phone bills. Just contact your telephone provider for more details. The Oklahoma Department of Veterans Affairs representative will not be coming to Osage County anymore, but Lee Webb will be still doing the veterans assistance for this area. Every Friday Lee will be at the Pawhuska Community Center from 9-11 a.m., Wynona 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Hominy from 1 p.m.-2 p.m. and Cleveland City Hall from 2:30 until 3:30 p.m. Residents from any other towns who need assistance can come to one of these towns to meet with Lee. Remember that the VA Healthcare meets all the requirements for Obamacare, so anyone who does not have their VA Healthcare should come and talk to Lee.
