Osage Casinos are planning to hire more than 200 people during October in connection with planned expansions at its Skiatook and Ponca City locations.

“We’re looking for all kinds of different positions — anything from housekeeping to guest services to shift managers,” Osage Casinos spokesman Chris Barton said.

Barton said a majority of the available positions will be on the hotel and restaurant side, since full-service hotel facilities are being built at both sites. He pointed out that the casinos are expecting to hire gaming-related employees, too.

A pair of job fairs are scheduled in conjunction with the expansions. The first will be held this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Skiatook Public Schools Multi-Purpose Building. Another is set for Friday, Oct. 11, at Ponca City Country Club.

The Ponca City Casino will expand to nearly 90,000 square feet and include nearly 450 slot machines — more than doubling the current number. A 48-room hotel is being designed by the architect responsible for The Bellagio and Rio casinos in Las Vegas. The facility is slated for completion on Dec. 23.

Opening soon in Skiatook will be a new 78,000-square-foot area holding 300 electronic games and six more gaming tables, as well as a restaurant and sports bar. A three-story, 33-room hotel and 60-seat restaurant are also part of the project.

Other Osage Casinos are located in Pawhuska, Hominy, Bartlesville, Tulsa and Sand Springs.

Barton encouraged applicants to bring government-issued identification. He said pre-employment drug tests and background checks will be conducted. Positions are not limited to applicants with tribal affiliations, Barton added.
