Osage County Health Department adds RN to staff

The Osage County Health Department has announced the addition of Laurie Wassom, RN to their clinic staff.

Wassom has lived in Osage County her entire life and is married with two children. She attended Tulsa Community College and received an award for ranking first in her graduating class.

She previously worked in a doctor’s office for nine years and another four years with home health. Laurie implemented and administered a patient assistance program for the indigent to get their medicine.

Wassom began her career with the Osage County Health Department on June 3.

Wassom is enthusiastic and motivated to improve the health of Osage County. One of her goals is to partner with the public schools to educate the students, faculty, and parents on sexually transmitted diseases in conjunction with teen pregnancy awareness and prevention.

She also wishes to make young people aware of all the services available through Osage County Health Department.

Wassom is now offering her services for STD checks, family planning, immunizations, head lice checks, TB testing, and communicable disease services/tests (i.e. HIV, etc.) at the Osage County Health Department on Wednesdays and Fridays. They are hoping, as the public becomes aware of their extensive services, to expand her days of availability.
