Teen shot, killed in Hominy
HOMINY — An investigation is continuing into the death of a male juvenile who was shot to death early Thursday as he attempted to enter a local residence, said Osage County authorities.
According to spokespersons for the Osage County Sheriff’s Office, a young man was killed by gunshots fired by a male juvenile who lives at the home. They said deputies were dispatched to the shooting scene shortly after 1 a.m. when a 911 call was received from a female resident.
“The caller advised that a man was attempting to break into her home,” said Undersheriff Lou Ann Brown. “He had broken the glass out of the door of her residence and was trying to gain access inside.”
The fatal wounds were sustained by the young man as he apparently was trying to forcibly enter through the front door of the house, the undersheriff said.
“A juvenile who lives at this location retrieved a gun and fired shots from inside the residence in the direction of the entry door,” said Brown.
The juvenile was pronounced dead after being transported to an area hospital, she added.
Names have not yet been officially released, however, according to Tulsa TV station KOTV News on 6, family members have identified the teen who was killed as Cole Davis, 16, of Terlton.
“Osage County Sheriff’s Office investigators are continuing to work this shooting and will submit the case to the district attorney’s office for review,” Brown said.
Assistant District Attorney Mike Fisher said Friday that he has spoken to the undersheriff about the shooting but is awaiting OCSO investigative reports before deciding how to proceed with the case.
