The trailer for “August: Osage County,” based on Tracy Letts’ award-winning play debuted late last week. The two-minute and 30-second preview provides a sneak peek at a dysfunctional Oklahoma family bickering in a rural Osage County home, where most of the film takes place.

The movie is centered around a tumultuous family whose members come together after the alcoholic patriarch disappears.

A powerhouse cast was selected to represent the extended clan in rural Oklahoma, and the trailer features snippets of Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts starring as the mother-daughter duo.

The star-studded movie was directed by John Wells, longtime TV producer of “ER” and “The West Wing,” with George Clooney as one of the film’s co-producers.

Benedict Cumberbatch, Ewan McGregor and Abigail Breslin also star in the film, which is anticipated to be an Oscar contender.

Filming for “August: Osage County” began in late September 2012 in the Pawhuska and Barnsdall areas. The movie will open on Nov. 8.
