Go Lady Jackets! We are so proud of our team. The girls are in grades 4 - 8 and they are holding their own against 7th and 8th grade teams. They are doing a great job and we appreciate the fans who show up for our games. After today, we only have 3 weeks to complete our tasks for school.

The elementary is finished with state testing. We appreciate the efforts of parents/guardians for getting your kids to school on time and ready to test. Way to go teachers for keeping the students on track if testing and quiet if not in a testing mode! You are all doing a great job! The high school should finish up their testing next week. Way to go students and teachers!

Thank you Ms. Ervin, Michael Ervin, Judy Macauley, Mr. Powell and numerous others for making the prom a success for our students.. Everyone had a great time and your efforts were greatly appreciated!

Next Thursday, May 2, our 2nd, 3rd and 6th grades are planning a trip to Woolaroc. On Friday, May 3, the 8th grade students will be taking their trip to Frontier City. Keep working and the end of this school year will be here in the blink of an eye!

Just a reminder that Lee Webb, is still coming to the Town Hall on Fridays from 11:30 until 12:30 to help Veterans with their benefits. This is a great opportunity for veterans and should be utilized by all that are qualified. Veterans are reminded that they can use their tax exempt card from the state to exempt taxes on their phone bills. Just contact your telephone provider for more details.

The next Wynona Founders Day planning meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 7, at 7 p.m. Everyone is encouraged to attend and make plans for a fun filled Founders Day Saturday, June 8t. We also need for lots of businesses and individuals to plan on having a float in the parade. We are having an auction and taking donations for good usable merchandise. We also are getting some pretty big boasting from Grillmasters, challenging people to come out and try to outgrill them. It will be a fun and exciting day with so much fun packed in, everyone should be involved. People should also be planning and making their box cars if they are going to be in the races. The kid’s games will be earlier in the day than in the past to keep the turtles fresh and at their running best! The lunch will be provided once again by the famous Wild Country Meats in Hominy. A hot dog eating contest is also in the plans. We still need large red plastic coffee cans for the Little Mr and Miss Wynona contestants. Please bring your coffee cans to Town Hall.

There have been reports of numerous burglaries, break-ins, and prowlers in the Wynona area and Wynona Police Officer John Ferguson advises Wynonans to call Osage County Sheriff’s office, or Wynona Police Cell 918-697-4592, or 911 to report. If incidents are not reported until the next day or several days later, it is hard to follow up on.
