An Okesa woman reportedly died after a mowing accident in Osage County on Monday afternoon.

According to Osage County Undersheriff Lou Ann Brown, 43-year-old Deanna Kay Pierce was mowing with a large mower on a pond dam when the mower evidently got “too far over and it rolled with her and pinned her under the mower.”

The lower portion of Pierce’s body was in the pond, according to Brown.

According to Brown, the sheriff’s department was called around 2:50 p.m. when a friend found Pierce on the rural Okesa property, just off U.S. Highway 60 near the new bridge.

Brown said the department would have to wait on the medical examiner’s report to determine Pierce’s cause of death.
