Free Dump Day

Free Dump Day Sponsored by Osage County Commissioners and City of Pawhuska 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Pawhuska - District #1 Shop 8th and Pecan, Shidler – W. of City on HWY 11, Barnsdall- 516 S. 5th St., Skiatook – 2850 W. 133rd Street North, Hominy – 604 Cotton Gin. What will be accepted – Passenger tires without the rims (no tire dealers), Appliances, furniture, mattresses, box springs, wood, brush. ‘Ransom of Emily Jane’

The Constantine is presenting “The Ransom of Emily Jane” which is based on the O’ Henry short story “The Ransom of Red Chief.” The play is adapted by Carolyn Lane and directed by Garrett Hartness. When the town gossips learn that rambunctious little Emily Jane Dorset has been kidnapped, they dutifully murmur, “poor little tyke” and then go on to rejoice in the unaccustomed peace and quiet her absence brings. Meanwhile, the “poor little tyke” is having the time of the life terrorizing her mild-mannered, inexperienced kidnappers. Comedy classic is suited for all ages. 7 p.m. at the Constantine Theatre Tickets are $3 in advance and $5 at the door. Bear Creek RFD fundraiser

University choir to perform

Members of the Wesley Foundation International Choir of Stillwater, OK will join the Pawhuska UMC during their 10am service. This International Choir is made up of both American & international students at Oklahoma State University. They meet weekly to celebrate God’s gift of music & to learn to share it together with others. This choir explores musical styles from around the world, as well as how it is used in Christian worship globally. They are excited to be hosted by the Pawhuska UMC, as well as Wesley Foundation board member Mr. Ron Reed & his family.

Food Bank

Community Food Bank of Eastern OK, 11 a.m. - 12 noon, Shidler United Methodist Church, 100 S. W.G. Ward Avenue; the person presenting a ticket must be the food recipient. If you are collecting food on someone’s behalf a name, address, and telephone number must be provided.

Take Back the Day

From 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. the Pawhuska Indian Health Clinic, the Northeast Oklahoma Chapter of the Commissioned Officer Association (COA), and the Osage Nation will sponsor a location for the National DEA Drug Take Back Day in the parking lot of Home Town Foods in Pawhuska, Okla. Hotdogs and beverages will be given away to participants and their family who bring unused or expired medications. The event gives the public a chance to properly dispose of their unused medications preventing them from being thrown in the trash, flushed, or falling into children’s hands; all of which can have a negative impact. The event is open to the public and everyone is encouraged to participate.
