We are in full swing testing mode at WPS! It is very important that all students be in attendance every day if at all possible! It is much easier on students to take state tests with the group rather than to make them up. We will need people to volunteer for monitors during the next few weeks. If you have time to spare, please contact our office at 918-846-2467.

There will be no school on Fridays — April 5, April 19, or April 26. These were built in snow days that we did not need. We used one snow day and we had enough hours that we did not have to make that one up. So our calendar will stay as scheduled. The elementary health fair presented by the Osage Nation is scheduled for April 12. We appreciate the Osage Nation for providing our students with this much needed and important information!

Our Junior High girls softball team is in full swing. We have a game at home against Shidler on Monday, April 15, at 4:30 p.m.. We are charging admission to these games $4 for adults and $2 for children. We had to start charging admission to help defray the cost of the umpire and maintenance. We appreciate the support of our fans. Please join us on game day if you can. Our team consists of 4th - 8th grade girls and they are doing a great job against much larger teams. Way to go lady Jackets!

Lee Webb is still coming to the Town Hall on Fridays from 11:30 until 12:30 to help Veterans with their benefits. This is a great opportunity for veterans and should be utilized by all that are qualified. Veterans are reminded that they can use their tax exempt card from the state to exempt taxes on their phone bills. Just contact your telephone provider for more details.

Wynona Founders Day planning meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 11. Make plans to attend and be a part of the fun and excitement plans for Wynona Founders Day, June 8.

Wynonans offer their condolences to the family members and friends of Hazel Herrmann, long time Wynonan. Everyone who knew Hazel, loved her.

Wynonans offer their condolences to the many family members and friends of long time Wynona resident, Jeff (Jeffy) Lay. He was a great man and very kind and considerate. We will all miss him!

There have been reports of numerous burglaries, break-ins, and prowlers in the Wynona area and Wynona Police Officer John Ferguson advises Wynonans to call Osage County Sheriff’s office, or Wynona Police Cell 918-697-4592, or 911 to report. If incidents are not reported until the next day or several days later, it is hard to follow up on.
