SUPERINTENDENT NOTES

(submitted by Superintendent Dixie Hurd)

Report cards went out on We., March 27. If you did not see your child’s report card, please contact the office if you would like a copy.

We are getting ready for state testing. Because these tests are now high stakes with passing and graduation tied to them, it is imperative that students take them seriously and take the time to read each question and do his/her best. High school students must pass English II and Algebra I and 2 other of the tests in order to get a diploma. Third grade students must pass the reading OCCT in order to pass to fourth grade. This will start with this year’s second grade students! Students are prepared for the tests throughout the school term. They should relax and do their best, but must take them seriously. A good night’s rest and a good breakfast are also helpful. The 5th and 8th grades will be taking the writing tests on April 3 and 4. There is no school on Friday, April 5. This is a scheduled snow day.

This school year is flying past. We have seven weeks of school left. During that time, there will be state testing, prom, senior trip, 8th grade trip, and many other adventures. The senior trip is April 12 and the prom is April 19. School Year 2012-2013 is quickly drawing to a close! We have great teachers who care about our students and their success in school! Please let them know that you appreciate them when you see them! Happy spring!
