Osage County Cattlewomen give beef certificates to area nursing homes

The Osage County Cattlewomen are continuing its longstanding program of providing Osage County nursing homes with beef certificates totaling nearly $500. These include Barnsdall, Pawhuska, Fairfax and Skiatook.

OCCW Beef Certificate Chair Barbara Strahm said, “Beef Certificates are like a cashier’s check and can be used to purchase beef roasts, hamburger meat or stew meat. The nursing homes are very appreciative of our efforts to provide beef for their residents, their families and staff.

Osage County Cattlewomen partners with the State CattleWomen to promote the beef industry through educational and promotional projects. These include Ag in the Classroom presentations in schools throughout Oklahoma, the Oklahoma Beef Cook-Off Contest and local and statewide beef promotions. We also provide scholarships for graduating high school students, Strahm said.
