Street Dance singer wins

Josie Zepeda was named as the winner of the Country Showdown singing competition held Tuesday, July 14, during the Cavalcade Street Dance.

Zepeda, of Bartlesville, was selected from a three-finalist field, which also included Jennifer Varao and Annie Hart.

She will now advance to the national contest’s state competition, which will be held Aug. 22 at Big Jim’s Bike Rally in Tahlequah. The winner from there moves on to a regional event, with an ultimate goal of the national finals and its $100,000 grand prize.

The local event was sponsored by Bartlesville Radio’s Real Country station, KRIG FM 104.9.
