Drummond Home News

On Feb 18, Bartlesville’s Washington County Elder Care IN came to tour the Drummond Home. Twenty-six lovely ladies arrived to see the Doll Exhibit and our wonderful Historical Home site!

It was a fun morning sharing history, stories of years gone by and getting to meet and make and new friends. Afterwards, the ladies went to Hominy’s Wild Country to dine. Thank you for your visit and we look forward to seeing you all again!

Due to the popularity of the Annual Doll Exhibit, as well as the numerous requests to keep the exhibit up “a little while” longer, the Drummond Home will extend the exhibit for another two weeks to give everyone a chance to visit the home and to view the dolls!

Since the weather is still cold, something warm and filling will be the recipe of the week.

PARMESAN POTATO SOUP

6 to 8 potatoes peeled & cubed

1 small onion, chopped

½ cup of all- purpose flour

½ teaspoon seasoning salt

½ teaspoon basil

¼ teaspoon celery salt

¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

¼ teaspoon sage

4 ½ cups of chicken broth

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

½ cup margarine

¼ teaspoon dried thyme

3 cups of milk

12 slices of cooked bacon, crumbled up

Cook potatoes in water until fork tender. In soup kettle saute onion in magarine until tender. Stir in flour, spices and gradually add broth, stirring constantly.

Add potatoes and return to boil, cover & simmering for ten minutes. Stir in milk and cheese, heat through. Stir in Bacon.

Serves 6-8.

Our hours of operation are Wednesdays through Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with tours being given between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. and on Sundays from 1 to 5 p.m. with the last tour beginning at 4 p.m. For more information, call 918-885-2374.
