Record crowd attends Cattlemen’s Valentine Ball

A record crowd attended the second annual Cattlemen & Cattlewomen’s ball and first Valentine’s event.
Cattlewomen President Carol Crews said, “Years ago, the Pawhuska Chamber of Commerce coined the phrase ‘Where the Buffalo Roam.’ Our Valentine’s Ball was definitely ‘Where the Cowboys Roam.’
“We were excited to host over 200 ranchers, their families and friends for an incredibly enjoyable evening.”
Held at the Pawhuska Elks Lodge, this family-oriented fete drew guests from all ages, including four generations of Osage County residents as well as visitors from surrounding areas.
The popular ‘A Bar Bunkhouse Band’ kept the dance floor alive with grandparents dancing with their grandchildren, fathers and daughters experiencing their first dance together, along with the sweethearts.
The Valentine-themed hall was complemented with a vast array of delectable hors d’oeuvres served by Osage County Cattlewomen.
Crews applauded event chairs Crystal Themm and Kathryn Chambers. Themm is the 2013-14 OCCW President and Chambers is 2015 OCCW Vice-President. These talented young women, along with a host of OCCW volunteers, created a memorable evening for all.
