The Drummond Home was visited by ten “Red Hat” ladies, from Bartlesville, Wann, and Nowata on Friday, Oct. 10. The ladies came to the home early afternoon after a eating a lovely lunch served to them at Hominy’s Wild Country Restaurant. After a wonderful time touring the home, the ladies took photos! It was a fun afternoon for all!

Since Christmas is just right around the corner, just wanted to give everyone a reminder that we sell Pioneer Woman, Ree Drummond’s books at the site! All are signed and would make great gifts for this holiday season! Right now we have a good supply in, so come and get yours now!

Recipe of the week is:

UNCLE BOB’S FRESH APPLE CAKE

Cake ingredients:

3 cups of Granny Smith apples, chopped

1 cup of chopped walnuts

2 teaspoons of vanilla extract

2 teaspoons of cinnamon

3 cups of flour

3 cups of all purpose flour

1 teaspoon of baking soda

1 teaspoon of salt

2 cups of sugar

1 ¼ cups of vegetable oil

3 eggs

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Lightly grease a bundt pan or tube pan.

In large bowl combine dry ingredients together mixing well. Add eggs and vegetable oil, mixing well. This will be thick. Fold in apples and walnuts making sure mixture is mixed together well. Pour into cake pan and bake for one hour and 30 minutes. Allow cake to full cool, about an hour and then turn out onto a plate.

Honey Glaze

1 cup confectioners sugar

2 Tablespoons of honey

2 tablespoons of milk

Add ingredients together in small bowl and stir until smooth. Drizzle over cooled cake.
