Wynona Schools will start at 8:30 a.m. Aug. 11 and enrollment will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug 6. Summer vacation is winding down. School supply lists will be available at the school office and at the town hall. This is a good time to remind drivers that the school zone is 25 miles per hour when the lights are flashing. We want to protect our young students in every way possible.

Just a reminder that Lee Webb, VFW Service Officer, is still coming to the Town Hall from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Fridays to help veterans with their benefits. Every Friday Lee will be at the Pawhuska Community Center from 9 - 11 a.m., in Wynona from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. and in Hominy from 1 - 2 p.m. Those who live in other towns and need assistance can come to one of these locations to meet with Lee. Lee wanted to remind everyone that he will also be at Cleveland at the City Hall from 2:30 until 3:30 p.m. on Fridays, as well.

Wynonans are still plagued daily by dogs running at large. The Town Hall gets calls every day about people letting their dogs run loose. It keeps the dog catcher hopping. It is town ordinance that people keep their dogs contained on their own property. We have had reports of dogs penning people in their cars where they can’t get out and also running loose in other people’s yards. Citations will be issued to those who do not control their dogs.

Wynonans want to say thank you to the E.S.C.A.P.E. Ministries out of Cleveland for remembering us when they have surplus food. We have had cantaloupes and a few watermelon in the past couple of weeks. Everyone is able to get some of this bounty and we all thank Pastor Bob and E.S.C.A.P.E. Ministries. The cantaloupe was so good and sweet.

Watch Facebook when we have goodies. We will post it on Facebook and then whoever reads it can call their friends and family.

We also have some clothes and shoes at Wynona Town Hall for anyone who wants to come and browse. Might find something for back to school.

Wynona’s newest business is Osage Treasure’s, owned by Merle Barnes. Osage Treasure’s is a store full of goodies found at storage units. Their hours are Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. They have all kinds of good buys for everyone.

Osage Treasure’s is located on Highway 99, across from The Store. Come and have a look at all the treasures and goodies they have there.
