The public is invited to a special presentation by award-winning Fox 23 Meteorologist Michael Seger this Saturday, Aug. 2, at the Pawhuska Public Library.

The event will kick off at 1 p.m. and is one of the many activities commemorating the Library’s 100th anniversary.

A member of the American Meteorological Society, Seger has been part of the FOX 23 Weather Team since 2008. Prior to that, he forecasted weather for southern Oklahoma and North Texas for KTEN-TV in Denison, Texas.

While at KTEN-TV, Seger received honorable mention for best morning newscast from the Oklahoma Associated Press Broadcasters. Seger, along with the KTEN-TV morning news team were also named winners of the Non-Metro TV Newscast Award by the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters.

Seger received his Broadcast Meteorology from Valparaiso University where he was inducted into the meteorology honor society Chi Epsilon Pi. He also has honors from the College of Adult Scholars, Alpha Sigma Lambda and a degree in Computer Art from the Savannah College of Art and Design.

When he is not forecasting weather for FOX23, Seger enjoys spending time with his family and friends, storm chasing, music and the arts, a round of golf, and rooting for the Indianapolis Colts.
