Local museum featured in novel
Award-winning author Mary McIntyre Coley signs copies of her latest book, “Cobwebs,” at the Osage County Historical Society Museum last Saturday. Pictured with Coley is Paula Elliott, of Fairfax. It has been five years since Coley researched the OCHS museum for “Cobwebs.” The correlation between the fictional fire in the museum’s store room eerily parallels the January fire that struck the museum in 2013. “Cobwebs” also references the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, the Osage Tribal Museum, Williams Park, Pawhuska Public Library and Pawhuska Cemetery. According to Museum Director Barbara Pease, the museum’s book store is the only outlet in Pawhuska for Coley’s book.
