The Osage County Health Department is pleased to offer a new Prenatal class on Friday of each month at 3:30pm.

The first class will be held April at the Health Department on 18th Street in Pawhuska.

One of the Oklahoma State Department of Health’s flagship issues is reducing infant mortality. Oklahoma’s average is 8.1 deaths per 1,000 births. The national average is 6.8 per 1,000 births. Osage County has higher incidence of infant mortality, with 8.8 deaths per 1,000 births.

The prenatal classes will review ways to have a healthier pregnancy. All pregnant women are encouraged to attend. If a participant comes to at least 2 classes, they will receive the book, “What to Expect When You’re Expecting.”

If you have any questions, call the Osage County Health Department at 918-287-3740.
