Chamber announces date for 2014 Gala

The 2014 Chamber Gala “Hollywood Osage County” will be held at 6 p.m. March 28 at the Pawhuska Elks Lodge.

This event promises a night of dining, silent and live auctions, and an exciting “head or tails” game.

25th annual Honors Banquet set for March 3

“Shining Stars of PHS Celebrating 25 Years of Success” will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 3 at the Pawhuska Elks Lodge.

Tickets are $8 each and can be purchased at several local churches as well as at Pawhuska High School.

Paula Rabb, Libby Strahan, and Blayne Shuping are selling tickets at First Baptist.

At First United Methodist, tickets can be purchased from Debbie or Ron Reed.

At Calvary Baptist, tickets can be purchased from Charlie Wadsworth.

Lori Loftis is selling tickets at the Presbyterian and First Christian churches.

Tickets can be purchased at Pawhuska High School or by calling Janette Murray at 918-287-2412.

Kiwanis Club to hold fundraiser potato bake

Kiwanis Club of Pawhuska is hosting a potato bake from 4:30-7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 24, at First Christian Church, 9th and Prudom.

Advance tickets are $5 or can be purchased at the door for $6.

Proceeds will benefit the ELIMINATE program. Kiwanis International and UNICEF have joined an international effort to ELIMINATE maternal/neonatal tetanus that takes the lives of mothers/newborns every 9 minutes worldwide. St. Thomas Episcopal hosts class on ‘The Holy Scriptures — A Survey’

St. Thomas Episcopal Church will be leading a Bible study class beginning March 12.

The teachings will be from the book “The Holy Scriptures — A Survey,” by Robert C. Dentan, Ph.D. The book is available at abebooks.com for $3.95 plus shipping. The public is invited to attend. This class is expected to have lively discussions and often agree to disagree. Class time is 5:30 until 7 p.m. This study is open to all, questions and doubts are especially welcome.
