Area rancher to hold book signing at Historical Society Gift Shop

BY KATHRYN SWANJ-C CORRESPONDENT

Dr. Joe (Bob) Surber will be at the Osage County Historical Society Museum Gift Shop Saturday, Dec. 21, from 1-4 p.m. to review his newest book, “Today’s Tomorrow.”

“This book points out that most people are not aware that much of the content of their lives is the result of their ‘habit cycles’ of thinking, feeling, and acting,” Dr. Surber said. “Also, many people want to improve their lives and relationships with others and/or want to make a change within themselves. The title of the book is derived from our wanting to improve today, but our habit of putting the improvement off until tomorrow.”

The official release of Today’s Tomorrow is Feb. 11, 2014. Paperback copies will be available during Saturday’s book signing.

Since retiring from the Ponca City school system, Dr. Surber wrote his first mystery, “The Mirror Chase” which previewed at the Historical Society Museum last year. He has also written numerous articles in educational and psychological publications, and published a counseling handbook. His poetry has been included in five anthologies.

The Osage County Historical Society Museum Gift Shop is located at 700 North Lynn Avenue in Pawhuska. Light refreshments will be served.
