Chili events slated at area fire houses
The Shidler Volunteer Fire Department will host its annual chili dinner and auction Saturday beginning at 6 p.m., with bids to start being taken at 7 p.m.
Donations of homemade items are being accepted and can be dropped of at The Review, Shidler Telephone Company and RCB Bank. To arrange for items to be picked up, persons may call (918) 793-4221.
The following Saturday, Nov. 9, the Burbank Volunteer Fire Department is sponsoring a Chili Cookoff at the fire station starting at 4 p.m.
Grand prize will be a Remington 870 Express Shotgun. Second-place winner is to get a $100 Lowes Gift Card. Winners must be present to receive their prizes. Numerous door prizes are to be given out during the event, organizers said.
There is a $25 entry fee for the cookoff. Bowls of chili will cost $5 for adults and $2 for kids 10 and under. For more information, contact Trevor Davis at (918) 716-7837. Chili cookoff entries are being taken by Haley Lessert (918) 688-8834.
