Bacon earns degree in Christian studies

John Robert Bacon, grandson of Paul and Joyce Allen of Pawhuska, graduated on May 11 magna cum laude from Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Ark. Bacon is the son of Tommy and Annette (Allen) Bacon of Bryant, Ark.

While attending Ouachita, Bacon met the love of his life, Lauren Tallakson. They were married on Aug. 13, 2011.

Bacon received a Bachelor of Science in Christian Studies with a 4.0 GPA and will be continuing his education this fall at Beeson Divinity School of Samford University in Birmingham, Ala., where he will seek a master’s and then doctorate in theology. With a goal of becoming a minister, Bacon preached at several Arkadelphia churches while earning his undergraduate degree.

According to proud grandpa Paul Allen, “OBU is hoping after John receives his Ph.D., he will return to Arkadelphia and become a professor at their school.”
