Big trout caught at Lake Pawhuska
While fishing at Lake Pawhuska on Friday morning April 5, J. J. Beal hooked into more than he bargained for.
Beal landed a whopping 9-pound 3-ounce Rainbow trout.
The current state record is 10 pounds 4 ounces and was set back in 1986.
Beal’s fish was 26.5” long. Beal had it weighed and measured at Johnny’s Bait and Tackle on Hensley in Bartlesville. It was then taken to Jim’s Taxidermy in Wann to be mounted.
“This was the largest trout I have heard of coming out of Pawhuska Lake,” said Beal.
