Pawhuska Boy Scouts, as well as scouts from Bartlesville, Tulsa, Broken Arrow, Kelleyville, Cushing, Coffeyville, Miami, Vinita and Grove attended the 17th annual Cherokee Area Council, BSA Winter Merit Badge Festival held at Tri County Tech in Bartlesville Feb. 2.

Over 200 young men and ladies had the chance to earn multiple merit badges in a wide range of topics from art, citizenship and cooking to first aid, welding and environmental science. Scouts spent the day in various classroom and hands-on sessions with industry experts.

At noon hungry Scouts and leaders took a lunch break to completely wipe out a 110-foot long sub sandwich in record time. Many of the badges earned are only available at this event which has become an annual tradition for many troops in our area. Many thanks go out to Tri County Tech for the use of their wonderful facilities and the assistance of their staff.
