Indian Summer Princess named

Oklahoma Indian Summer is proud to announce that Alexis Rain Madden will be crowned as their 2019-2020 Princess.
Alexis is the 16-year-old daughter of Dave and Tara Madden of Dewey. She goes by the nickname of “Lexi.” She has a younger brother, Daniel Madden, and an older sister, Haley Madden. Lexi is the granddaughter of Larry Madden from Pawhuska, Susan Hamilton of Skiatook, Deborah Brown of Dewey, and the late Edward Trowbridge. She is also the great-granddaughter of the late William Hamilton, Naomi Pratt, Bessie Bigtalk Towbridge and Mary Secondine White.
Alexis is Osage, Delaware, Sioux, Cherokee and Acoma Pueblo. Her Osage name is Hum.pa.ko.ka.
The Oklahoma Indian Summer Committee is honored to have Alexis serve as its representative for the next powwow season. The Committee also invites everyone to come out to the festival on Oct. 4 and 5 in Dewey, Oklahoma on Don Tyler Avenue and the Heritage Theatre — Gizzy’s Eatery.
Lexi will be crowned on Friday evening, October 4th after the Grand Entry of the powwow by Oklahoma Indian Summer’s outgoing princess, Minnie Mae Dombrovski.
