Indian Taco Championship set Oct. 7

Visitors come from all over to enjoy a fall day in Pawhuska during the National Indian Taco Championship. This year the popular event is scheduled from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Oct. 7.

The competition seeks the best Indian tacos in the country with prize money totaling $4,000 for four awards. There’s also a Native American dance competition with more prizes awarded.

Vendors will be on hand to sell everything from jewelry to art work.
