Last Friday night’s Mixed Martial Arts fight at Winstar Casino Resort resulted in a loss by split decision for Pawhuska native Chance "Black Eagle" Rencountre.

Ringside observers reported that Rencountre "fought his heart out" and "showed an incredibly strong chin" in the three-round battle, which was televised live via the Spike TV Network.

"It was a good scrap from start to finish — and that’s what we aim for," said a spokesperson for the California-based Bellator MMA promotional agency.

The loss at Thackerville to Justin Patterson was Rencountre’s second straight defeat. The former prep and collegiate wrestler began his professional campaign by reeling off eight victories in a row, following an undefeated amateur career.
