Fred Allen Kumpf, 88, passed away at home on January 16, 2023. He was born in Kane, PA the eldest son of Fred and Katharine Kumpf and brother to siblings Kenneth and Laura.

Fred grew up in PA and Wyoming and graduated in 1952 from Washakie County High School in Worland, WY. He served 4 years in the Army Corp of Engineers then graduated from the Colorado School of Mines in 1959 with a degree in petroleum engineering.

In 1958 he married Barbara Kukura of Casper, Wyoming with whom he had two children, Mary and Colleen.

Fred embarked on a 30 yr. career with Phillips Petroleum Co. in their International and E&P departments. He lived in Venezuela, England and Norway often traveling to other European countries as well as Nigeria and Egypt. He returned to Bartlesville in 1973 and retired in 1989.

Immediately after retirement Fred accepted a position with Hunt Oil Co. during which time, he married Judith Ann Ziara then retired a second time in 1993 and made Tulsa their permanent residence.

Fred was active with the Tracy Park Homeowners Assoc. for many years. He volunteered tirelessly for H&R Block, the Community Action Project's Tax Preparation Program for low income families, Up With Trees and the CAF Tulsa squadron. He was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church and served as their archivist for 8 years. He enjoyed memberships in the American Legion, stamp club and the Society of Petroleum Engineers.

Fred was a man who passionately explored his many and varied interests as an avid reader, knowledgeable on most any subject, and was greatly admired for his ability to share this knowledge in any conversation. He maintained a positive outlook on life, saw the good in everyone he met and would befriend anyone in need. He loved life, his family and the many pets he rescued over the years. He will always be remembered by the people whose lives he enriched.

Fred is survived by his wife, Judy, of the home, his ex-wife Barbara, daughters Mary Schatz (Jeff) and Colleen White, 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He is also survived by step children Carolyn Kociszewski and Sam Ziara, a sister Laura Bridges (Robert), a niece and 3 nephews.

Fred was predeceased in death by his parents Fred and Katharine Kumpf his younger brother, Kenneth Kumpf and nephew Aaron Kumpf.
