Irma Freedell McIntire, 79, passed away Monday, March 10, 2014 at the Pawhuska Nursing Home.
Irma was born Dec. 24, 1934 in Tulsa, Okla., the daughter of Free Silver and Olivia (Gordon) Kasler. On March 10, 1952, she married Franklin G. "Pete" McIntire in Bowring, Okla. The McIntires made their home in Bowring. Through the years, Irma was known as an avid leader and supporter of 4-H. She loved quilting, canning and gardening. She was also well-known around the area to be an extremely good cook. A homemaker, Irma was a loving wife, mother and grandmother to her family.
Surviving are her husband Franklin G. "Pete" McIntire; her children, James Franklin McIntire, Pamela Sue Abrams and John Lee McIntire; ten grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Irma was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Norman, Oliver and Free Silver, Kasler, Jr.
Services were held Friday, March 14, at McCartney’s Johnson Funeral Home. Rev. Jeff Laughlin, First Baptist Church of Pawhuska, officiated. Interment was in the Pawhuska City Cemetery.
McCartney’s Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
